what
Life is all about…manna on the ground.
I am re-reading Major Ian Thomas’ The
Saving Life of Christ for the umpteenth time, and he makes a point in the 6th
chapter about “manna on the ground.” Except for the fact that he misses the
point of the correct makeup of a Saint (biblical trichotomy)…which frustrates
me a bit when reading his writings, he is one of my favorite writers. Got to
meet him back around 2000, and hear him, at Grace Church in College Station.
Thomas makes an
incredible connection of manna on the
ground with the presence of God, His
still being present with the Israelites even though they were faithless,
disobedient, and disrespectful to God. If you can find this book, it will be
well worth it to read chapters 5-8, even though other chapters are great in
many ways.
No wonder we are reminded in Hebrews 13:5, “I will never leave thee, nor
forsake thee.” God having given that message to us in various ways in Genesis
28:15; Deuteronomy 31:6, 8; Joshua 1:5; 1 Chronicles 28:20; and Psalm 37:25.
Everywhere I look, no matter where I am, I see manna on the ground. Hallelujah!
