Jesus Positioning System

Instead of trying New Year’s Resolutions this year, why not try JPS?

JPS?  Well, most are familiar with GPS, Global Positioning System.  It gives you a specific location based on time and known position of GPS specialized satellites.  That’s great IF you are looking to know where you are, or you know the specific coordinates of where you want to go.  BUT…what if you don’t have the specifics of the latter?

That is the specialty of JPS.  JESUS POSITIONING SYSTEM.  There are three basic verses that give all we need to know of WHERE WE ARE TO BE, and HOW TO GET THERE…

1.  PROVERBS 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, lean not to thine understanding, but acknowledge HIM in all you do…and HE will direct thy paths.”

2.  PHILIPPIANS 4:13, “I can do ALL things through Christ, who strengthens me.”

3.  PHILIPPIANS 4:19, “My God shall supply all your need according to HIS riches in Christ Jesus.”

How is your life working out for you now?

Try the JESUS POSITIONING SYSTEM for a better way!

the Presence of Christ

what does the Presence of Christ mean to you???

One of God’s greatest communicators that I ever met was Manley Beasley.  He had a piercing manner of speaking to his listener’s heart, not just the mental surface.  A favorite few words about “the presence of God” from Manley are these:
“The presence of God will not be revealed by emotional manifestations
and sensations and so on.  The presence of God will be manifested in
the sense of a knowing in the Spirit.  By a total surrender to God we
can be filled and fused with the Holy Spirit.  We can enter into the
     presence of God.”

W. A. Criswell - Revival and Resurrection

"Revival is a Christian word.  The lawless and heathen need resurrection, not revival.  Revival will save a nation.  Revival ought to characterize all that we do, all the days of our pilgrimmage."

Flesh & Spirit

The “flesh” CANNOT overcome Holy Spirit.  That’s impossible.  S0, why do many Christians seem to succumb to the “flesh” so often?

Well, God gives us the CHOICE to walk after the flesh, or walk in Holy Spirit.  It is OUR choice as to which one is in control.

Commandments and Rules

With all the commandments and rules God gives us, we must first find out HOW Jesus carried them out (He was dependent upon His Father to carry them out through Him), and SEE that we must be dependent upon Him to carry them out through us.

Then we must LOVE all them He has blessed us to experience.  For if we cannot see and love HOW these are manifested in us, WHY and HOW will we explain them to others?

The Christian and the 23rd Psalm

Every Christian knows the 23rd Psalm, yet many live like they have never heard of it.  Why is that?  Unbelief.

Believing God and His profound statements to us of Who He is, Who we are in Christ, All that He is to us, etc., etc., etc. are the foundational truths that lead us to His Abundant Life in and through us…and becoming the “overcomers” that John and Paul told us we are.

God's Word and Depression

what does God’s Word say about DEPRESSION?

God’s Word gives us several ways anyone can bring on depression to themselves.  Can you quickly name 1 verse OR 3 “ways” that tell us what God says?

ANNOUNCING: Volume 2 of My Weakness for His Strength is now in print!  Available at ALMI.  May I encourage you to get one soon!

I am reminded of one of Michael’s famous statements: “Jesus is The Way, and all other ways are not The Way.”  Amen.

This is what all the other “kingdoms” are trying to get us away from.  They are Anti-Jehovah.  Anti-Christ.  Anti-The Way.  Pro “all the other ways.”

As Joshua said, “…as for me and my house, we will serve (worship) the LORD!”

DAY 192

Lost Kingdoms

Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory; and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'" --Matthew 4:8-10

I went to the British Museum, possibly the best natural-history museum in the world. However, I think it should be called the British Museum of God’s Judgment on Godless Kingdoms, for that is what it really reveals. From the Incas, the Greeks, the Romans, the Egyptians, the Africans, and many more, one readily sees the result of kingdoms that are anti-Jehovah. Evolutionists and anthropologists have perpetrated the notion that ancient societies were idyllic before the advent of Christianity, which spreads guilt and condemnation; that is preposterous. We forget one of the lessons of the Old Testament, and that is that God raises up kingdoms to punish the godless, non-God-fearing kingdoms. Where are these idyllic kingdoms, anyway? The Incas were performing so many ritual killings and bloodlettings that I believe God permitted the Spanish to be the instrument of judgment. All kingdoms passed away because of their wickedness. The respected Indian prophet, Sundar Singh, visited Europe in the 1920’s. He prophesied about the coming punishment that would be WWII, and he did not see the looming war as a “natural disaster,” but as God’s judgment. Of course, his message was not received. Many in Europe say that they lost their faith because of the Great War. That is not true. The Great War revealed that they had already lost their faith. God’s judgments are always true. I make many mistakes, but I fear making a false judgment, and therefore I am not a fan of condemnation teaching. However, this is not condemnation teaching, for I am merely pointing out what appears to be an absolute, that God raises up kingdoms to destroy corrupt kingdoms.

By the way, in the museum, the letters “A.D.” or “B.C.” following dates are more commonly being replaced with the letters “c.e.” (Common Era) or “b.c.e.” (Before Common Era) as a means of being more sensitive to non-Christian religious traditions. The world would like us to forget that it is the “year of our Lord.” But Jesus Christ is real, He will judge, and His return is near. In the course of the ministry travels I have been taken to so many museums, parks, attractions, and more. In the end I have this assessment, “All is vanity; we must abide in Jesus.”

Joshua 24:15 was one of the first verses I came to know after being Born Again.  What a beautiful verse it is, in its completeness:
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will
serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side
of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me
and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
WOW!  Direct.  Time to make a choice.  That’s where we are today, for sure!

Michael gives us five things to give a lot of study and deciding to do:
1. God raises up kingdoms to punish the godless, non-God-fearing kingdoms...to
    destroy corrupt kingdoms.
2. (All of life’s events) The Great War revealed that they had already lost their
    faith.
3. God’s judgments are always true.
4. Jesus Christ is real, He will judge, and His return is near.
5. “All is vanity, we must abide in Jesus.”

Let us join in with Jesus as Matthew quoted Him: “Go, Satan! For it is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'"  That is OUR Lord, Savior, and Shepherd telling Satan for us!

“One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do,” the song goes made popular way back in 1969 by the group Three Dog Night.  Alone, loneliness, all alone, one…  But, Michael gives us a beautiful perspective from God’s Word in Romans ch.14.  This is a great set of truths each of us can share with someone who is experiencing the feelings of loneliness…

DAY 191

Lonely

For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. –Romans 14: 7, 8

I suppose that there are times in everyone’s life when they feel all alone. Actually, this is an awareness of something that has always existed. A person may have always been alone but only recognize it at a time when there is not activity around him. One woman, when widowed for a short time, aptly said, “I know God is with me, but this morning I fell and there was no one there to pick me up.” In the outer life loneliness is more readily recognized; however, in the spirit and soul we were all born lonely. There has never been (in spite of the insipid teaching of having a “soul mate”) anyone who can touch our mind, heart, soul, emotions, will, and spirit. No one, that is, save One, and that One is Jesus. Psalm 25:16, “Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.” Psalm 68:6, “God makes a home for the lonely.” If you have invited the life of Jesus to live within, you have learned that He is the only One who fills loneliness and assures you that you never were alone. I like feeling lonely and turning to Him to discover His nearness. I like the fact that He alone can fill the emptiness that is deepest within me. I cannot imagine that He wants to be that near, but He does.

Yellow – VIP, Very Important Point      Green – IT, Incredible Truth
Red – GP, Greatest Promises
Turquoise – UR, Unfathomable Riches           Pink – PV, Priceless Victory

The natural mind, both in Unbelievers and Believers, is known to draw either to the idea of a “soul mate.”  Michael calls it an “insipid teaching.”  Amen.  It is most sad that a Believer would operate in the natural mind instead of the Mind of Christ that Paul tells us we have and can only “receive the things of God” with.

Let Michael’s words, “If you have invited the life of Jesus to live within, you have learned that He is the only One who fills loneliness and assures you that you never were alone,” take you to the Throne of Grace and enjoy the two “likes” that Michael followed those words with.

And, finally, we can all “imagine” what Michael was imagining…but, as He always says, “the nearness of Christ” is ours.  Let us embrace His presence, and find we are never lonely.

Grow in His grace

Grow in His grace

Ok, someone asked after the last post…”if grace is God’s unmerited favor, how do we ‘grow in His grace’?”  Good question.

First, that definition is very common for the word, “grace.”  But, tell me, what do we receive from God that is ‘merited,’ or ‘not unmerited’?

Yet, God Himself tells us to “grow in (His) grace” – 2 Peter 3:18
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…”
So, what is it that we can “grow in”?

Everything we have received from God is something of His doing.  Everything.  When we look at “grace” as being “His doing,” and not just “unmerited favor,” we then can look to Him to see how we can receive more of “whatever” from Him!  Thereby, “growing in His grace.”

Now, how do we “grow” to receive more from Him?
First, look for His promises of something to GIVE us.  Then, RECEIVE it.  Just like we receive any gift at our birthday or at Christmas.  What did we do to be given those gifts?  Nothing.  What do we do to get those gifts?  Receive them.  It’s the same with God’s promises.  Illustration: want “peace”?  John 14:27:
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I
unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
1.     He gives us His peace.
2.    Not as the world giveth…how is that?  Always with some requirement.
Jesus gives with no requirements, no stipulations.
3.    What do we do?  Simply receive His gift of peace.
4.    The result?  His peace.  A heart not troubled, nor afraid.
5.    More results?  Joy & comforted heart, sound mind, no stress/no anxiety.

Second, acknowledge our weakness, and His strength, then ASK Him for something we need.  Wait for Him to provide.  Trust God for His supply, and live on it.  Study all you can from George Mueller to further understand and live this!  He wants to pour out His grace upon His kids!  Wait and watch what He does!

no more "Christian life" or "abundant life" for me!

no more "Christian life" or "abundant life" for me!

Am I giving up on Christ?  Absolutely not!  But, Christianity today has evolved into a list of do's and don'ts that God never intended.  That is what most Christians call "the Christian life."  Not God.

Even "the abundant life" is a misnomer.  Jesus never said that.  Most Christians think of "the abundant life" as more money, more fun, more things, more success, more better health, more _____________.  He didn't say that.

In John 10:10-11, Jesus spoke of two different things:
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and  to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they
might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  I am the good shepherd:
the good shepherd giveth His life for the sheep."  (

Jesus said it is His Life that is the Life for a Christian.  Not anything abundantly that this world's life can give.  For me, I call it "Life as a Christian."  Period.  His LifeHis Life as my Life (Colossians 3:3-4).  Life with a capital L.

Jesus said He came to GIVE us His Life, and that we might HAVE His Life more abundantly.  He wants us to acknowledge and call it "His Life more abundantly."  I want that.  I'll take His GIFT to me!

No performance.  Receiving His gift.  Well, amen.

p.s.  do you know how to "receive" His Life, and more abundantly?  Grow in His grace.

Satisfaction

talking about Life (Christ’s Life) in a Christian

Satisfaction
“I can’t get no…satis…faction.”  This was a popular song by the Rolling Stones back in 1965.  “Cause I try and I try and I try and I try” was the song’s mantra as the singers lament ALL the ways they have TRIED to get that elusive “satisfaction.”  Each thing they “tried” was of the world…not one mention of Jesus.  Whether it was an item, and individual, or some information…no satisfaction.

My friend Michael Wells, in volume 2 (now available at ALMI) of My Weakness for His Strength, gives the most stunning revelation of the “disconnect” of so many as far as the spirit/soul/body trichotomy is concerned.  And how there is such little “satisfaction” in the life of many Christians.  The writing of Day 256 is marvelous!  Get this book, or write me for a recap of what Michael has said.

As stupid is...

An old movie favorite, Forrest Gump, came up with a popular quote: "Stupid is as stupid does."  With Hollywood being as humanistic as it is, that statement is appropriate for them.  They are not into the spirituality of things.  But (this is a holy "but"), Truth is: stupid does as stupid is.  The "is" always goes before the "does."
Example: a sinner is not a sinner because he sins.  a sinner sins because he is a sinner.  a pine tree is not a pine tree because it grows pine needles.  a pine tree grows pine needles because it is a pine tree.

It is a tragedy that the church in America has let most discussions (especially in business meetings)  revolve around the humanistic instead of the spiritual.

Holding On?

The word for "faithless" is apistos, "unbelieving," meaning "not trusting God to perform."  And one who doesn't trust God will not depend on God.  "Belief," pisteuo, creates dependence upon God. The one who lives in dependence upon God does not act in independence.  And one who is depending upon God does not "hold on to God," but rather is held onto by God!  A Believer who has been placed IN Christ...it is Christ Who holds the Believer firmly.  Well, amen!

PEACE IN THE STORM

In the midst of storms, including this Storm Harvey (Aug. 25+, 2017), some are able to have access and experience that "peace that passes all understanding" (Philippians 4:7).  Thank You, Lord Jesus, for that! (John 14:27).

believe a lie?

Great day ahead for Christ In The Park this coming Sunday...last week we started a discussion on HOW people can "believe a lie easier than they can believe the truth."  The answer is simple.  Park folks now know.  Well, amen!

Created or Begat?

Proverbs 21:10, "The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbor findeth no favor in his eyes."
It should be evident to us today, with evil out in the open and running rampant, that we would find wickedness in people operating in the devil's mind.  Total misunderstanding of just what "man" is (as regarding "created" and "begat") leads to no understanding of what is going on right before our eyes.
News and leadership see "flesh," when "spirit" is behind it all.
